Payment Gateway Plug & Play

This announcement marks the biggest feature we've rolled out since I started Txt2Give over 3 years ago, which is an eternity in Internet years :)

Back then, I chose to integrate with Stripe to handle all of the payment processing for donations. Why? Well, two reasons really.

Stripe made it incredibly easy for our customers to start accepting credit cards. After filling out Stripe's simple online application, our customers would instantly have a merchant account they could connect to our platform. No emailing paperwork back and forth to get the merchant account set up, which is typical with other payment processors, and typically has a 24-48 hour turnaround time.

They also have an amazing and robust ecosystem for developers, so it's extremely simple for a platform like ours to plug into their API and start processing credit card transactions. Even a developer with less than "Chuck Norris"-like coding chops can easily be up and running in a day or less.

But over time and as we grew, I started hearing from both prospects and existing customers saying things like:

We already use XYZ Processor and get a great rate with them. Can we use them instead of Stripe?

We began to realize that while Stripe made things really simple, some organizations preferred to use their existing processor relationship to handle credit card transactions. I could see their point.

So in the spirit of giving customers what they want, we can now easily support over 100 different payment gateways with the flip of a switch on our end!

We've supported Stripe from the very beginning, and that's not going to change. The other two gateways we've switched on are Authorize.net and BluePay. We'll be adding more gateways this year. Which ones come online first will be determined by the number of requests we get.

So with that said, if you'd like to use our giving platform at your church, nonprofit, school, or other type of organization but we don't currently support your payment processor of choice, let us know by shooting us a message or leaving a comment below.
